For organisations
I offer specialist coaching and professional development for the marketing, communications and PR teams in your organisation. It is designed to help them work with greater purpose and confidence, and ultimately to ensure your campaigns drive more impact.
The information on this page is for marketing and communications leaders and/or HR and professional development functions - anyone who is responsible for commissioning training and development for marketing and communications professionals.
Helping your marketing and communications teams have greater impact
Effective marketing and communications depend on more than technical knowhow and competence. Organisations need people who can think creatively and strategically, make sound professional judgements, explain their recommendations clearly, and offer their advice to colleagues at all levels. When team members have the insight and capability to do this well, marketing campaigns are more focused, decisions are better informed, and communications activity is more likely to support your organisational priorities.
Coaching can help make that possible. It gives marketing and communications professionals space to reflect on real work challenges, strengthen their judgement, prepare for important meetings or campaigns, and develop the confidence to articulate what good practice looks like. For organisations, the result can be stronger advice, clearer messaging, more effective stakeholder relationships, and better campaign delivery.
How coaching can help your organisation
Organisations often invest in coaching when they want to improve performance, support people through change, strengthen leadership capability, or help valued team members step up quickly and effectively. For marketing, communications and PR teams, coaching can be particularly useful when people need to work with challenging objectives, influence senior stakeholders, evaluate campaign impact, handle sensitive and/or reputational issues, or move from delivery roles into management.
Unlike generic training, coaching is rooted in the real situations your teams are facing. It helps people apply their skills more effectively in context: developing stronger plans, preparing better advice, communicating the rationale for decisions, and learning how to respond thoughtfully under pressure. This can lead to marketing and communications activity that is more purposeful and more closely aligned with organisational goals and targets.
A fully-qualified business coach with substantial experience of marketing and communications
My coaching is grounded in more than 30 years’ experience in marketing and communications, including 24 years leading and line-managing teams in the public and private sectors. I understand the realities of these roles: tight deadlines, competing priorities, reputational risk, stakeholder expectations, organisational change, and the need to influence people who may not always understand the value of good communications.
That combination allows me to support both the individual development of team members and the wider organisational need for confident, credible marketing and communications advice. My role is not to tell your team how to run a campaign or what message to use, but to help them think more clearly, trust their professional judgement, communicate their reasoning, and take purposeful action for the benefit of the organisation.
Flexible support for one person, several team members, or the whole team
You can engage me in different ways depending on what your organisation needs. You may want to fund coaching for one team member who is preparing for promotion, stepping into management, returning after
time away, leading an important project, or needing support to perform at the required level.
You may also want several or all members of your marketing or communications team to have one-to-one coaching, each focused on their own role, goals and development needs. Alternatively, I can support your team through a facilitated away day, development session or similar event to create structured time to reflect on shared challenges, ways of working, communication, priorities, and how the team can have greater organisational impact.
Confidentiality and organisational goals
Confidentiality is central to effective coaching. If your organisation is funding coaching for an individual, we can agree the broad aims together at the start, and this may include a three-way conversation with the individual, their line manager and myself. To enable individuals to get the most from one-to-one coaching, the content of coaching conversations remains confidential. This helps create a safe and trusted space for open reflection and development.
For team-based work, such as an away day or development session, we can agree the purpose and format in advance. This might include exploring shared priorities, team dynamics and personality profiling, confidence in advising the wider organisation, lessons from recent campaigns, or practical ways to improve effectiveness and impact.
Fees and bespoke quotes
For organisation-funded one-to-one coaching, my standard rate is £80 per session. The Coaching for Comms 90-Day Focus Programme includes six one-to-one sessions for the same person for £420, equivalent to £70 per session.
For away days, facilitated development sessions or wider team events, I would be happy to discuss what you need and provide a bespoke quote based on the format, length, location, and level of preparation required.
Practical arrangements
One-to-one coaching can usually take place online via Teams making it easy to support people in different locations. Team away days or facilitated development sessions can be delivered in person where practical, or online if that better suits your organisation. The number and frequency of sessions can be agreed depending on what you want the coaching or team development work to achieve.
I am happy to discuss coaching for one individual, one-to-one coaching for several team members, coaching support for a whole team, or a facilitated away day or development session for your marketing, communications or PR team.
Take the next step
If you are considering coaching or team development support for your marketing or communications team, I would be delighted to have an initial conversation. We can talk through what you want to achieve, who the support is for, and what format would best help your team deliver stronger marketing and communications outcomes for your organisation. I look forward to hearing from you.
